Lakoff和Johnson的隐喻理论研究揭示了语言的隐喻特性。语言隐喻性的实质是语言产生和理解的一种理据。语言隐喻性研究为英语教学提供了启示,即语言隐喻性是语言教学的一个重要指导原则,英语教学应重视建构学习者的英语隐喻系统,培养英语隐喻能力,以期促进学习者准确理解存在于英语语言中的相关语言现象。
